5 things to remember when interviewing with the CEO

You are on your last interview and it’s with the CEO or president. What to remember when interviewing with the president.

  1. Make your time count.

Chances are you’ve had other interviews with other members of the team and this is the last step. You don’t want to assume that the job is yours and also make sure you have this time used well. You probably don’t have along interview, so it’s very important to make it count. Leave the chitchat for the end, or minimize the chitchat at the beginning.

  1. You want to be a giver, not a taker.

You’re there to show how you add value to this person’s team. You are not there to find out “what’s in it for me?”

  1. Be yourself.

You want to relax a little bit. They probably want to find out if you fit with their team.

  1. Be Prepared.

You should have done some research on LinkedIn or Google. You don’t want to be a stalker, but you want to be prepared if this person starts talking about their past, to be able to add something to it and draw some lines where you have some points in common.

  1. Show genuine interest for the job.

Ask for the job. Be prepared to send an email after you leave, reiterating your interest for the job. There’s nothing more flattering than being told, I really want this job. I want to be part of your organization and your team. I’m Dawn Williams from Sirius Personnel. I can be reached on LinkedIn and Twitter. Happy Selling!
